Beit She’an is one of Israel’s hottest cities, located within the country’s geographic and socio-economic periphery. In this context, sport, and football in particular holds an important social value, creating spaces of identity, community, and belonging. Home Ground seeks to strengthen this role by making sport more accessible and placing play at the center of public life.

The public spaces of the project are therefore conceived as active fields, courts, and gathering areas, while the buildings are positioned and shaped to shade them as effectively as possible. The architecture itself responds to the extreme climate through sections calibrated to the angle of the sun, double-layered façades, patios, and carved horizontal openings that draw wind deep into the buildings and the spaces between them.
