Cool Lab responds to a growing mismatch between the European city and a rapidly warming climate. Developed together with the community that inhabits and uses Sankt-Jakobs-Platz, the project rethinks the exposed urban square as a field of adaptation, play, and collective agency. A dynamic seating and shading system is activated through children’s play, directly linking movement to comfort and public life.
